Hot off the press & straight to your inbox, a dispatch from the frontlines of the Portland market. Covering real estate numbers, local news, events, & more.
Considering the projected temperatures for the next few weeks, we’ll take a cooling trend anywhere we can get it. Even if it’s in the real estate market. While closed sales were up in June, the numbers of new listings and pending sales all slipped a bit from the month prior. And, don’t think we haven’t been feeling it. Sellers have had the upper hand in the Portland area for a number of years now and it really feels like change is in the air. Sorry, homeowners, you’re going to have to work just a tad harder and wait a bit longer to get your houses sold. Buyers? You ready to really negotiate once again? Scouts are certainly up for both sides of the challenge.
Overall Portland Prices:
- Average sale price in the metro area for 2018 through June was $453,400, a 6.2% increase from this time last year.
- The median sale price increased 6.7% to $400,000 in the same comparison.
- Rates have lowered slightly at 4.625% for a 30-year, fixed, conventional with excellent credit.
