Even taking into consideration the expectedly slow holiday season, the market has been pretty quiet…so we knew inventory was low. But we have hit a new record low. Picture this: If every currently listed house were to sell, there would be nothing left in a mere .6 month. Dang! We’ve seen a notable drop in market activity across the board not just when compared to last month, but to this time last year as well. That being said, all of us in this industry from photographers to agents, lenders to inspectors, are already starting to feel the buzz for what we expect to be a very fast-paced and competitive 2022. Things are already starting to kick off earlier than usual and we’re here for it. If you have questions or want to strategize buying, selling, or both, we’d love to hear from you. We’re pretty sure it’s going to be a busy year for Portland real estate.

Overall Portland Prices:

  • The average sale price in the metro area for 2021 through December was $571,900, a 15.8% increase from this time last year.
  • The median sale price increased by 15.7% to $509,00 in the same comparison.

Interest Rates:

  • Rates have increased to 3.375% for a 30-year, fixed, conventional with excellent credit.
